– I received both cameras, set up was easy but the quality of way under what I expected. The motion detector is not working very well, even with the sensor at 100% it doesn’t let me know when there is obvious movement. One of the camera has serious sound distortion, I removed the app, reset the camera and tried again, still not fixed. At this point, I decided to return my cameras for all these reasons. I have a 32G memory card in them and after trying any which way I can, there is NO WAY to remove them. I get in touch with their customer support to ask how to remove my memory card and this is what she replied: “We would like to inform you that our Return/Refund policy for any purchases made is within 30 days from the date of purchase from the seller.” This being said not only are the cameras far from being worth the buy, they just got 2 free 32G memory card on the return. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SUPPORT. I do NOT recommend this company.

– I installed a 64 Gig SD card but the app only records 6 seconds per detection no matter how much memory you have on your card. You are obligated to purchase their cloud serviced. The app is completely unreliable. Stay away from any from YI. I also have the YI indoor Dome camera and suffer the same problem of having to purchase the cloud service even though I have onboard memory which was recommended. From what I read, if you buy the service, they will place the longer recordings on the memory afterwards. Save your money for a better device or just a decoy. Not the 1080p it promises to be. Sorry I don’t have a photo.

Night vision works good, its not military grade but you sure can see well in the dark. The best part about Yi cam is that it doesn’t require “subscription fees” unlike other brand (n**t cam). This is a Kami/Yi review (same company) for their cameras – My IT co-worker turned me on to these cameras and his description is balls on, if you want a cheap camera with a good picture and decent reliability you can not go wrong with these cameras, trust me when I say that 99% of crap from China is garbage. I have purchased 6 1080 dome cameras to which 4 are in harsh indoor conditions 1 cameras rotating mechanism has a gear or two slightly stripped and I replaced it after 2 years of working fine, the other 5 I have had no problems. I have purchased 5 Yi outdoor cameras and although they don’t rotate and the picture is no quite as good as the dome cameras I have had Zero issues with any of them over the last 3+ years and 2 of them are at a cabin in the mountains and have pushed the temperature tolerance passed the preferred manufacturers parameters and still works fine. Most recently a forest fire swept through the area and although the cabin and immediate surrounding cabins were saved by the awesome fire fighters it got hot enough to start melting the extension cord (barely and in only a couple spots) but not the lens. I have purchased 4 Kami completely wireless outdoor cameras, I believe the Kami line is like a Lexus to a Toyota. The cameras work on the Yi website along with the Yi cameras, these cameras offer more and are about 2.5 to 3 times the price of a Yi camera. These cameras are awesome BUT since I’ve just purchased them 4 months ago (I’ve been purchasing Yi cameras for 5 years now) I can’t give an accurate long term review. Although minor issues of losing connection a couple of times, it appears the bells and whistles may be cutting into the longevity of the Kami cameras. I have 2 plans of 15 day recording for 5 cameras and here’s their plans in a nut shell. If your looking for a security system that will have the police at your door in seconds or a couple of minutes get something else or you could still use the cameras in combination with something like Simplisafe but if your looking for a security system that’s like Dragnet, “Just the Facts Ma’am” and you have something like a safe room or it’s for a place that’s remote this is the ideal system. The recordings go to the cloud in exactly 2 minutes and there’s nothing that can stop that from happening, you don’t need a SD card (it’s stupid to put one in if you have the cloud) and you can download from the cloud, in other words my plan is 15 days of recording so that means I have 15 days to download the recording off the cloud before it gets deleted, the 16th day records over the first day and etc. (with proper equipment you can download 15 days in a couple of minutes). Setting up and maintaining the information, I give it a 20IQ, if you have an IQ of 19 or less you’ll need help but for the rest of us fortunate (or unfortunate depending on how much responsibility your willing to bare) you might pause a time or two but you’ll figure it out well before you dial the help line operator. I’m writing this review because of the extensive experience I have with the Yi product and it’s monitoring security. When I buy a product, of any kind, I always read the reviews to help make my decision (jumps the odds up that I’ll at least get something that I can work with) and with some of the questions and ridiculous answers I have heard hopefully experience with Yi…….and Kami products will help someone else get what they need and not what they don’t need.
