Second Purchase – This is a great travel size to take on the airline. My first one got cracked from the American Airlines not sure what they did to it but they couldn’t get it open at least.

Depending on your needs – this might work great, but it’s no replacement for the original Pelican – Rating this appropriately for the case it is. This is the first Vault Pelican case I’ve purchased. I have bought about a dozen original Pelican cases and have put them through a lot with 100% success. The Vault line is nothing like the original Pelican cases. This is made of a different, lighter weight polymer, the latches feel light duty, the lid and sides will flex with medium pressure or force, and the quality of the foam inserts is less (not pick-and-pluck either). It’s still a Pelican, so it is a nice case and well thought out/designed. However, if you’re looking for rugged durability, this line of case is not it. I think the case is priced appropriately – this isn’t a bargain, it’s a less expensive case.

Blue not like the others – I got the blue one thinking it would be like the yellow one I already own based on the description but it’s not. My yellow one has steel inserts for the padlock holes. The blue one does not (although the description claimed it would).

Solid case but foam can be challenging – Pelican has always made nice stuff. This is no exception. The foam is okay but it does take the proper tools and some planning. A very sharp craft knife is best but a razor blade will work too. Make openings slightly smaller than the item so it grips it. I glued the top foam in after cutting out where I wanted small accessories. I used the top layer of foam on the bottom side kind of as a tray, making spaces for some items in there. Underneath I cut all the way through the second layer but left the thin final layer on the bottom. I used mine for my GoPro setup and mounted a small zipper case on the top and Velcro to the lid. I did cut the front off the first layer to store my GoPro 3way stick/tripod which fits perfectly. Overall it is nice but I wish I could go back and cut one of the foam layers differently.

Powder blue pedican vault case – Was exactly what I was looking for. I love the press to unlatch mechanism. My only complaint is I saw that there was an option for a alternative compartment for the inside and I didn’t get that option. Otherwise the product was exactly what I was looking for.
