Check the Box make sure it’s new. Great System! – The First Package came with old parts in it you could see the discoloration of the wiring and was left out in the pooring rain got drenched. When I plugged in the DVR it made a very loud noise and sounded like it was going to explode. Needless to say it either got wet or was old.

Sweet – I’ve own Swann for a very long time this makes my second 1 I’ve purchased And I upgraded this time. I can’t get over how good the night vision works on this system It It is unbelievable how good it does work. It was a really good price on it too. I like the new upgrade on their app that works on your phone it’s a lot better than the old one And with a lot more features. If you’ve never bought 1 before I would recommend that you go with the 8 cameras instead of the 4 cameras, You will thank yourself in the end. That’s what I did with the 1st system that I bought and I regretted it after I did purchase it So if you can afford it definitely get 8 cameras And the biggest hard drive you can.

When called to set up the install, they said they would charge $50 for each camera, plus any extra’s needed to complete the install.

The focus is flawless, and the units themselves light and relatively compact. The base station HDD produces very little sound, and has an efficient, relatively sturdy design. The included cables are generous in length, appear durable, and have well-fitted plugs that attach with a reassuring grip.

My primary motivation for buying another Swann system was that I could re-use the existing cabling. Swann uses two cables per camera – a BNC/coax cable for the signal and a second power cable. That was extremely important. Drilling holes and running cable all around your house is about 95% of the work of installing one of these systems. Having the cabling in place was a huge time saver.
