Nice picture quality in compact size – I had mainly intended this for monitoring my porch / doorway area to keep tabs on package deliveries. I think it’s well suited for that, but I had some challenges getting it set up due to my environment. I live at the top of a large hill (literally the highest point in the city) with lots of tree branches nearby and a constant high wind. As a result of this, there is just a steady stream of shadows and light reflecting constantly dancing around, making it challenging to get a “quiet” baseline reading to train the motion detector. In addition to this, anything protruding from the flat surface of the house seems to naturally attract leaves, snow, and whatever else the wind kicks up, and I spend a lot of time removing obstructions or repositioning the equipment in hopes of a better view. In the end, I ended up with the camera positioned inside the house in a window where it could point to the porch I wanted to monitor. This did solve a lot of the environment issues, but at the expense of motion detection, since that relies on no physical separation (i.e. glass pane) in between. My main note on motion detection therefore is that the sensitivity adjustment etc did not seem as intuitive as I would like.

Have had many camera systems in this price range – I have alot of cameras this is my first set of truly wireless all run via battery and wifi and the quality is absolutely amazing. Got these on cyber Monday because of some losses around the house and a ex thats procrastination to move is getting ridiculous . So now I am making it feel like u can’t get away with stealing and every move is being watched . Back to the cams the pic quality is excellent the settings are above most and the price was great I got 3 cams with the solar panels free for 105 . So don’t buy the solar panel upgrade as it comes for free with the normal package. Just get these

Nice Outdoor 1080p Wireless Camera w/Battery/Solar – Box comes with 1080p battery operated camera, with charging cable, mounting bracket, user manual, and solar panel with mounting bracket. This is a wifi camera. The camera itself is made of quality plastic (similar to an “Arlo”). It’s advertised as an outdoor camera (can use indoors as well), so it is weather resistant but not waterproof. The back of the camera does have holes for the speaker, so it’s possible that water can find its way there with high winds , otherwise, water should roll off the enclosure under normal conditions. The brackets are also made of plastic or nylon material. On the bottom of the camera enclosure is access to the charging port and slot for insertion of a microSD memory card for video storage. Upon inserting an microSD card, a voice from the camera reminds you to format the SD card. I used a 128GB card and it worked fine. Before you do anything, need to first install the App (Vico Home) by means of scanning QR code on the user manual and following instructions on your smart phone to get the camera working. The App provides information on battery life, wifi signal strength, name of camera (you input) and settings for motion detection, notifications, lighting settings, ability to record video/photos and review recorded videos from motion detection. The camera uses AI to detect people and vehicles. This helps to prevent false alarms from ie. moving bushes/tree branches. There is also two-way audio (listening in and talking through your phone); motion alerts (notifications) are sent to your phone. Using the small solar panel, kept the charge level on the camera at 99% to 100% while camera was left outdoors for testing for a couple of days. Camera can also sound an alarm or flash a light when motion is detected. Didn’t get any false alarms, it only recorded when a person (me) was detected. In terms of picture sharpness, this is only a 1080p camera, so don’t expect 4k resolution. Per the attached photos, placed cardboard with words “Test” to verify sharpness. Both photos, were shot at 17′ distance, and able to discern the three inch letters for “Test”. The smaller letters of the “Priority Mailing” box (1/2″ size) were not visible. They are visible if taken at 5′. The sharpness is comparable to other 1080p cameras that I have. The night vision works pretty good. This is a great camera with usable features, including battery/solar operation, which allows more options for camera placement. If rating just the camera, it would be 5 stars, but App has limited adjustments, rate the package as 4.5 stars.
