Best bang for your buck – If your a casual video tographer movie editor this camera will be the best for those using this camera as a hobby or as a entry to get into film photography. And also this could be used for more serious all uses as well what is needed is your own personal creativity and maybe a correct lens however the kit lens with this camera is beautiful.

Great choice for casual or professional work – Love this camera! Excellent image quality, non-proprietary raw files (hear that, Olympus?) makes editing a breeze. I am not a videographer, but the 4K is perfect for shooting things where timing is critical, and the 8MP images look great (see posted image). If I was going to criticize anything it would be battery life, but any smaller camera will have that issue, and this is one of the better ones as far as battery life.

Incorrect items in the bundle – I received my order today and there was a lot of stuff that you packaged with the camera, some of which was incomplete and others not correct. First, the hand strap was in a sealed box but it did not have the little plastic strap grabber that allows you to attach and tighten the strap. I was able to make it work by taking the plastic grabber off the strap that came with the camera. The plastic mount that attaches to the camera to hold the bottom of the hand strap was not for the G7 camera. There is a turned up section that is designed to stop it from rotating but that prevents the screen from folding out. Finally, you sent a black band to goes on the lens but it is for a much bigger lens. The camera case is huge and much more than needed but you sell as a package. You should give better options but other than that I am satisfied.

the sensor is terrific and captures amazing detail even in low light – Coming from a Casio Ex-10 pro compact digital to this, I was blown away at the difference a few years and a range upgrade makes, the sensor is terrific and captures amazing detail even in low light. With a little experimentation I could do some cool lighting effects, and all of it captured easily by this camera. This camera records in mp4 at UHD(4K) which is 3840×2160 not Cinema 4K which is 4096×2160, just FYI. Also I was hoping to actually record 1080 24p but this camera only does the useless AVCHD 1080 24p- to use such footage in Vegas Pro you either need to unwrap/rewrap streams, which can be blocky if you’re not careful in Vegas and doesn’t speed up/slow down properly; or you need to render to raw AVI (huge files!) and Handbrake encode to get mp4. Better to use UHD mp4 and downsize- so if you’re buying this for 24p, get several TBs of storage and a full USB 3.0 reader setup. The reader in the package is only USB 2.0! Package came with an extra charger and two extra batteries, awesome. Overall, very happy with this bundle!
