Camera – 5 Stars / App – 3 Stars – The LaView 4MP Outdoor / Indoor Security Camera is a good product. In fact, I would give it 5 Stars. However, the only way the camera is usable is through the LaView App and it is not so good – I would give it 3 Stars – more on this later. I gave the whole package 4 Stars because their Customer Service was responsive and helpful. My contact, Hoshi, was very helpful and receptive to my concerns. He has reported them to their technical staff (hopefully they will be responsive to his inputs).

Exactly What I Was Looking For! – Picture quality is excellent. Very easy to install and they give you every that you need to install the camera in various ways. Excellent customer service (they reached out to me!) And most importantly for me, I’m able to via the camera away from my home not using WiFi and I love that you can speak through the device. Night vision is amazing, has a spotlight for color night recording or traditional IR recording. Led light can be turned off or on and storage can be via micro SD or cloud (AWS). My only suggestion would be to implement a hierarchy structure to the app so that certain permissions are given to other users who aren’t admins.

Great camera for the price! – So far, these cameras are really great! I bought the 4 count, it took a couple minutes to get them connected to the internet **have to have wifi** and when they say hook it up close to the router, I had to have them literally a foot away, but no big deal. The picture is very clear in day or night, I like the different night vision options. The movement alert is great, you can set up specific areas to alert your from or the entire camera span. My only critique is without the SD card you have to pay for Amazon’s services to have the feed recorded and saved without hitting the record options on the app. The app is very easy to work with. Over all i would purchase these again.

Repeated “Failed to establish the encrypted channel” error while monitoring – I like being able to continuously monitor my cameras. To do that with these cameras, I’ve mounted a small tablet next to my computer monitor (which I’m constantly in front of) that keeps the LaView app open and shows me what’s on these cameras all day. Or, at least, it should.
