10 reviews for JideTech Outdoor 4K PTZ POE Camera, 8MP

– Need to figure out this camera by spending some time. Manual is good for nothing, software buggy, lack of technical support. But overall camera quality is good, night vision is good too. It doesn’t like when disconnected from NVR , takes a bit of time to start it up, but when it started it works fine with no major issue. it is very compact and esthetically appealing camera. Also issue that Jidetech home page has broken links for software downloading.

Could be a powerful camera – I bought two of these. Right off the bat both cameras had continuous connection failures. I experimented using several different security applications but there was no difference. Thinking that a firmware update would help I asked support for the latest, which they sent me. The cameras had two different firmware revisions, one being the same as the one support sent me. The behavior was the same with both revisions, so I didn’t bother upgrading the second one.

– I purchased this camera to connect it to my GW Security NVR. The camera itself is very well built with a very sturdy case. The PTZ functionality had a very good response time. I was able to log into the camera itself and change the IP address in order to add it my NVR. I’m familiar with adding different makes of cameras to my NVR as I have 2 other non brand cameras that connected right away. The reason I decided to buy this camera was because a couple of reviewers stated they were able to add this PTZ camera to their GW NVR.

Good camera for the price – While researching cameras, I found the JideTech camera to have all the features of cameras that were two or more time more expensive, so I was a bit apprehensive, but by purchasing them through Amazon, I know if they did not meet my requirements, I could return them. Let me first explain I am an engineer with extensive video and networking experience, so on paper, the camera looked good. I also found through investigation that they had both Windows and Apple software, and being Apple centric I decided to purchase three POE 5MP PTZ cameras. When they arrived I found the packaging very well designed and the cameras arrived in boxes that looked like they were just assembled. I initially had problems because the Apple uses a slot loading DVD drive, and the mini CD will not load into a slot drive, so I went to the JideTech web site and downloaded the software that was on the CD. I also found I could not install the Apple software, so I contacted JideSoft technical support, which is in China. I received a response the next day from Wincy Zhao informing me that the Apple software was not compatible with the newer Apple OS. He suggested I use a Windows computer as that software worked. He also suggested I use IPWizard as that will allow me to change the default IP address that all cameras ship with, which is 192.168.1.18. This IP address is the default IP address because they assume the customer will be installing their Network Video Recorder, which I am not using. This was a big disappointment, but luckily I have the ability to run Windows 10 on my MacBook so I started Windows and installed the Windows software. After running IPWizard, I was able to change the IP addresses to the address I wanted for each camera. I then connected all three cameras to my test network, I once again ran IPWizard and all three cameras were found and all the info on the cameras was displayed. When Started the HCMS application is I could view the video from each camera, it would not start due to a missing DLL file. Once Again, I contacted Wincy, and the next day he sent me link to download a different file that allowed me to operate the cameras. Once I installed the software, I was able to link the cameras to the CMS application and I could view all three videos at one time and also select a camera that I wanted to control the PtZ functions and everything worked as desired. BTW, during all of my trials and tribulations, Wincy would contact me to make sure everything wis working. His commitment to y being a satisfied customer was outstanding. At this point, I moved the cameras and POE switch to my garage so I had a larger area to view, plus I could see the video both with the lights on and with them off so I could see the IR video.
