Not for a total beginner – This is marketed as a Point and Shoot camera for kids. No it is not a true Point and Shoot. I have owned those before and this is not one. It would be fine for an older child but they still would need to be taught how to use it. I got this for my 86 year old mother who is intimidated by digital cameras. I thought a basic Point and Shoot would work for her. Well I guess I will have to see how she does with this. I deducted 2 stars. One because it is not a Point and Shoot camera and two, it’s made of a cheap looking plastic. It takes pictures just fine so in my opinion it’s just OK.

Inexpensive camera. Some pictures get corrupted. Came with 2 batteries and a memory card – I’ve updated my review as my daughter has used this camera for a few days now. She has noticed that some picture thumbnails are showing as black and when selected are corrupted and don’t display properly. I added pictures to show this. Whether this is the memory card or the camera software I don’t know. What I do know is that my daughter is crying because the pictures she took are gone. Downgrading this camera to a 3.

Great beginner camera – My kids were super excited to try this camera out. For the price, I was pleasantly surprised at how great this camera was. Right upon opening they went around the house taking pictures of everything. My 9y and 6y old didn’t need the directions to figure out how to take videos, zoom, or focus the camera. Honestly, I was expecting most of the photos to be blurry (kids…) but the anti-shake function really does what it claims. All the photos were in focus and clear. The kids really loved the self-timer function. We now have plenty of precious memories of them playing with each other and having a blast. Highly recommend for kids!

Great little camera. Works well, no issues. Good quality pictures – What would I have done to have a camera like this as a child growing up. This camera works great. Picture quality is awesome. Better than I expected anyway. Zooming ability is ok. It will zoom but the picture becomes very blurry. The interface looks like a child’s toy. But you can’t argue with the picture quality. Just look at the photos I’ve taken with this thing. The only one I zoomed in was the wreath on the door. The rest was taken at normal zoom.

Awesome camera for a young person … – I’m really impressed with this camera. I’ve purchased a few over the years for my oldest granddaughter & she never got a single picture out of them. They were geared for children, which in some people’s minds mean they don’t have to actually be anything real.
